THE SATELLITE FUND

SPACES is now accepting applications from artists, curators, and cultural producers living/working in Cuyahoga County  with projects that are based in the visual arts engaging in experimental practices with strong conceptual foundations.

Applications are open now through July 8, 2024 (11:59PM EST)

5 artists/collectives will receive:

  • A $12,000 grant award
  • Access to on-site art production facilities 
  • Mentorship and networking opportunities
  • A one-year SPACES ArtsPass membership (cross-organization artist-level membership with Zygote Press and Praxis Fiber Workshop)


ELIGIBILITY

Artists who do not live/work in Cuyahoga County, who have confirmed exhibitions scheduled at SPACES in the future, have been awarded a grant from the Urgent Art Fund 2024, SPACES staff (and relatives), SPACES board members (and relatives), and SPACES contractors (and relatives), The Satellite Fund and Urgent Art Fund 2024 jurors may not apply to The Satellite Fund.
 

Applicants MUST be 18+ years of age at the time of applying and CANNOT be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at any point now through July 31, 2025.


APPLICATION PROCESS

   Artists are required to submit the following materials:

   ·       Project title
   ·       Artist(s) Biography (up to 250 words)
   ·       Project Description (up to 500 words)
   ·       Venue/Public Display
   ·       Timeline (template HERE)
   ·       Budget (template HERE)
   ·       Work Samples + Descriptions (up to 10 still images, 6 minutes of video/audio, OR a PDF with up to 10 pages)

SELECTION PROCESS

  Applications for The Satellite Fund will be open from May 6, 2024 (12PM EST) through July 8, 2024 (11:59PM EST). SPACES will retain a 5-person application review panel, consisting of 3 arts professionals living and/or working in Cuyahoga County, and 2 arts professionals who lives and works outside of Cuyahoga County. Jurors will score applications based on the following criteria: feasibility, relevancy, artistic quality, and ability to create an exchange of ideas and perspectives in alignment with the purpose of The Satellite Fund.

Jurors will invite 8 artists/collectives to present their proposal in-person at SPACES. After deliberation amongst the jury, 5 artists/collectives will be awarded The Satellite Fund 2024!
